Sports Nutrition

Whether you exercise to keep fit, participate regularly in an organized sporting activity, or are training to reach the peak level of your performance, nutrition planning is an essential tool to allow you to perform at your best.

Nutrition in sport is more than just the ‘fuel that makes the car run better’ or the ‘icing on the cake’. Food and fluids can be used in such clever ways to help manipulate your shape, performance, and response to training. Sports nutrition can also be fun and delicious and can help us get the gold medal or achieve our personal best.

Making smart choices about the type, timing and quantity of food/fluid to eat and drink can all play a role in realizing and achieving your best.

With the aid of Abby Shaw, you will be able to optimise your response to training, stay healthy, prepare for events, recover effectively and make more informed choices about foods, beverages and the use of supplements.

 

 

Initial consultation (45min)

Getting started with an Initial Consultation, Abby will:

– Look at your past and present health history and lifestyle behaviors to establish a background of your current situation.

– Initiate a dietary assessment of your usual intake to determine where change could be helpful.

– Discuss goals and determine how to get you from where you are now, to where you want to be.

– Develop a nutrition plan to help you achieve your desired goals, with the aid of recipes and resources.

– Types of plans include general health and wellbeing, weight loss, weight gain, nutrition education, training and race preparation.

Follow up consultation (30min)

After we have established the first few steps that you will take towards your nutrition goals, you will know what needs to happen in order to get the results you want. The follow-up consultation with Abby will make sure that you remain on track and continue to learn what works best for you and your specific situation, therefore, turning your short and long-term goals into reality. Additional recipes and ideas will be given if needed.

This includes an initial consult and 2 additional follow up sessions, which give you the best possible start to your health goals.  Abby will make sure that you remain on track and continue to learn what works best for you and your specific situation, therefore, turning your short and long-term goals into reality. Seminars (45 – 60min)

Wanting to reach a bigger audience? Abby offers seminars to small or larger groups to make nutrition easy to understand. These seminars will give you practical tips and tricks to looking after your body through nutrition, eating well and living life to the fullest.

– Sports Nutrition (tailored to a particular sport if needed)
